It thrills me to no end that this child of mine has a love of fresh garden peas. It’s kind of a funny when I think about it, really, but I’m pretty much obsessed with the these things.

I have so many childhood memories of fresh garden peas…eating them to my hearts content on my grandparents’ farm out by Sylvan Lake, shelling them (with my best friend) for what seemed like hours so my mom could freeze them for winter. Of course we made sure to sneak a few for ourselves.

So yes, I love that my daughter loves this little sweet treat, too. But, sadly, I think these are the last of the summer peas for this year…fall is in the air.
