It seems to be that we always need a reason to have a photo taken, whether it be to update your website pics or update “the family photo.” But I think that everyone deserves to have some nice shots of themselves, for no reason at all.
I remember when I was looking for a photo that I could use as a profile picture for something on the web…and I couldn’t find a single image of myself! I tried setting up my self-timer and doing some “nice” selfies…but it just turned into a laugh fest. Good thing no one was watching. So I decided to bite the bullet and get some professional photos done. I was so glad I did.
I haven’t actually done much with the photos, but that’s ok. It’s kind of fun to look back at them and it’s just nice to know that there are a few pictures floating around of me that aren’t totally hideous. Really, I know that all the photos of me aren’t hideous….but, you know.
We can be so critical of ourselves. I see it all the time when I am taking photos of people. We all take our turns at the negative self-talk, but every time someone says something negative about themselves I just cringe. Cause all I see is beauty.
My goal with portrait photography is to show you what I see…to reflect your beauty back to you. I want people to see how beautiful they are. There’s something special in everyone – true story.
