Active Explorers Inc. is a licensed sports-integrated preschool center that provides early education and physical activity for children aged 3 to 5 years.
They provide children with a comprehensive syllabus to encourage the development of five key pillars: Early Literacy, Early Numeracy, Science and Inquiry, Social Development and Physical Development.
Active Explorers’ unique and child-centered program builds a strong foundation for children through a Reggio inspired approach to teaching/learning.
They integrate gymnastics and physical activity into the program as a crucial point of a child’s self-progression.
The Active Explorers program affords children the opportunity to have daily access to engaging and challenging apparatus/equipment and circuits that encourage and refine gross motor development, body/spatial awareness, locomotor skills, eye-hand coordination, balance, strength, flexibility and cooperation.

Our mission as a sports-based preschool is to form relationships with families and to design preschool and gymnastics programs that are intertwined and together foster physical, social, cognitive and emotional development. We provide a nurturing and safe environment where every child is valued and respected, and can embrace learning as they are able.
Philosophy:
At Active Explorers, we believe the health benefits of physical activity extend well beyond physical health, and have a positive impact on a child’s motor skills, cognition, social and emotional development. Gymnastics is the most comprehensive activity for physical development and contributes greatly to overall child development. We also believe that authentic learning tasks and a rich environment are integral to student learning. A child’s environment must be accessible and encourage confidence, ownership and interaction with the space, materials and people.
